Responsibilities
- Drive monetary policy facilities market development through project management.
- Review and confirm the Weekly Statistical Report prepared before presenting it to the Monetary Policy Committee and verify minutes before sending them to Management.
- Monitor developments in domestic money and securities markets, produce analysis, and provide regular recommendations to the Executive Director on monetary policy implementation, market risks, and relevant issues.
- Manage CBB accounts; conduct Open Market Operations; assess CBB domestic financial assets to support financial stability and manage the liquidity of the banking system.
- Manage entity accounts and bank reserves, ensuring regulatory compliance while streamlining monetary operations and reporting for strategic decision‑making.
- Implement Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decisions and analyze market trends to provide strategic advice to MPC.
- Issue directives to participants related to new policies, system operating rules, and regulations.
- Participate in the assessment of systems and implement recommendations to ensure compliance with best international standards.
- Prepare data for monetary operations for periodic updates of the Redbook.
- Participate in Business Continuity Planning (BCP) activities to ensure operational resilience.
- Manage Money Market operations: monitor, review, post, and update policy interest rates; publish daily rates on the CBB website, LSEG workspace, and Bloomberg pages; oversee liquidity levels and transactions related to daily standing facilities such as deposit facilities, lending, and repos.
- Conduct liquidity operations as needed to suit market conditions, ensuring proper implementation of liquidity management procedures and assessing CBB's ability to support the banking system and economy.
- Conduct Banking Services Operations: maintain accounts for banks and financial institutions (Bahrain Clear, IMF, AMF, and Government entities such as SIO); administer day‑to‑day transactions in the core banking system and coordinate with account holders.
- Review and approve CBB Sale & Purchase transactions related to government securities in SSS, RTGS, and core banking system; authorize posting of government securities transactions.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of statutory cash reserve requirement transactions for banks on a monthly basis.
- Manage participants onboarding into systems and related accounts.
- Provide liquidity to participants of the payment system; monitor liquidity position of local retail banks and adequacy of collaterals, collateral management, and settlement patterns.
- Process, confirm, and authorize posting of all IMF transactions and accounts with the CBB; liaise with MOFNE through Governor's Office to issue new Treasury Notes on IMF Securities Account.
- Participate in periodic review and updates of the Redbook.
- Adhere to rules, regulations, procedures, and policies in all operations.
- Carry out any additional tasks assigned by superiors, ensuring timely completion.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the function; ensure the team is equipped with the skills and knowledge to support the function.
- Foster a high‑performing team culture: set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and support professional development.
- Implement development plans for team members; promote continuous learning and growth within the function.
- Bachelor or Master degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science, or its equivalent.
- 7+ years of relevant experience.
