Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee the accounting and financial operations of our Restaurant and Gaming Lounge business in Bahrain. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, managing daily transactions and reconciliations, overseeing month-end and year-end closing processes, Year End external audit, VAT compliance, payroll accounting, cost control, and providing management with financial analysis and business insights across multiple business units.
Key Responsibilities Financial Accounting & Reporting- Manage the full accounting cycle, including Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, and Bank Reconciliations.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare management reports, financial dashboards, and variance analysis.
- Monitor daily sales and revenue reconciliation across restaurant and gaming lounge operations.
- Reconcile POS systems, payment gateways, cash collections, and bank deposits.
- Ensure accurate recording of revenue streams and compliance with internal policies.
- Review cash handling procedures and strengthen internal controls.
- Perform Input and Output VAT reconciliations.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with Bahrain VAT regulations.
- Ensure proper maintenance of VAT records and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with tax consultants and government authorities during audits and reviews.
- Manage government fee calculations, reconciliations, and payments related to revenue-generating activities.
- Reviewing Payroll to secure final approval from the management.
- Ensuring payroll & staff monthly accruals entries are correctly posted in account system.
- Coordinate with HR on employee-related financial matters, including leave accruals, end-of-service benefits, and payroll reporting.
- Reviewing COGS and departmental cost together with cost controller and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Review inventory valuations, stock reconciliations, and wastage reports submitted by the cost controller.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Analyse financial performance and provide actionable recommendations to management.
- Prepare profitability reports by outlet, department, and revenue stream.
- Support strategic decision-making through financial modelling and analysis.
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Identify operational and financial risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as CPA, CMA, or CA Enter is preferred.
- Minimum 5–8 years of accounting experience
, preferably within the F&B, Hospitality, Entertainment, or Retail sectors. - Strong knowledge of Bahrain VAT regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience with big operations and high-volume transaction environments.
- Experience in restaurant accounting, gaming lounge operations, or entertainment venues is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in ERP Oracle Net Suite, other accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with POS systems and payment gateway reconciliations is an advantage.
- Strong financial reporting and analytical skills.
