RoleResponsibilities
- Work individually and as part of a team to cover an assigned set of funds as a knowledgeable and professional point of contact for fund investors, fund managers and internal teams regarding fund documentation, investor registries and AML/KYC processing.
- Possess a good understanding of AML/KYC laws and guidelines set out by MENA regulators, CIMA and Apex AML policies and adhere to these established policies, procedures and controls.
- Knowledge of Bermuda and BVI AML/KYC laws is an added advantage.
- Have knowledge of all Transfer Agency functions including AML/KYC and investor onboarding, Share Registry Dealings, Metrosoft screening, Payments, FATCA/CRS filings, and more.
- Coordinate with the appropriate operations and CRM teams to ensure tasks are completed.
- Have a basic understanding of fund structures—share classes vs. series—and understand the NAV per share to publish correct prices to vendors such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Morning Star.
- Understand accounting related to subscriptions, redemptions, and distributions, and ensure investor communications are released in line with procedures and deadlines.
- Establish relationships with FA teams and define workflows so that the FA team is updated at all times regarding any TA activity to be included in the NAV.
- Be responsible for fund audits related to any TA‑related PBC requirements.
- Have a good command of the English language and possess good written and communication skills; knowledge of Arabic (written and spoken) is an added advantage.
- Maintain good email etiquette when communicating with investors and clients.
- Confidently communicate with investors and handle any situations that arise in line with Apex’s policies.
- Be able to read and understand TA‑related aspects in a Funds PPM and provide comments, coordinating with the Corporate Secretary for waivers or board resolutions related to any TA activity.
- Maintain knowledge of assigned funds, fund timelines, deal documentation, and related processes.
- Understand workflows and organize responsibilities and priorities to meet deadlines with exceptional attention to detail and follow‑through.
- Participate in special projects as assigned, including automation efforts, enhanced controls, system testing, and client research.
Overall, 5–7 years of experience with a minimum of 3 years in a Transfer Agency role.
