Director of Housekeeping at Sofitel

Job Description- Oversee the Housekeeping operations, including the Laundry ensuring hotel standards and procedures are fully known and followed.
- Ensure all rooms are prepared and inspected as per standards and according to guest requests and needs, including the Turn Down service.
- Ensure flower decorations in rooms and public areas are always maintained as per the required standards.
- Ensure upkeep of all front of the house areas, including the hotel entrance.
- Ensure upkeep of all designated back of the house areas.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels for smooth operation of Housekeeping and Laundry and approve requisitions accordingly.
- Record and schedule inventories of linen, uniforms and other applicable items.
- Engage with different suppliers and contractors.
- Oversee Pest Control service; jointly with the Stewarding Manager and Chief Engineer establish Pest Control schedules.
- Implement housekeeping related HACCP procedures.
- Participate in sustainable development and apply energy and waste management.
- Monitor cost control and suggest saving programs.
- Ensure all linen and uniform management and handling procedures are respected.
- Supervise and control Lost and Found, maintain records and mail packages to clients.
- Be aware of all VIPs visiting or staying in the hotel; personally inspect VIP rooms.
- Make regular room and public area inspections with the Engineering Department on deviations from standard set‑ups and maintenance; follow up on Out of Order and Out of Service rooms.
- Other duties as assigned.
- At least 5 years of experience in a luxury hospitality setting.
- Proven track record of leading, mentoring and developing a diverse housekeeping team.
- Experience in developing and implementing housekeeping policies, procedures and standards to ensure exceptional service and guest satisfaction.
- Ability to collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and address any housekeeping‑related issues.
