Senior Manager Cargo
Evolve the business plan and the long-term sales plan of the business unit, in line with the corporate objectives. Devise strategies to achieve the plan.
Manage the Gulf Air Cargo department in all aspects of the Cargo business with a particular focus on sales, revenue productivity and bottom-line contribution. Achieve revenue growth and overall revenue targets throughout the route network whilst complying with overall budget and maintaining reliability of Cargo. Ensue proper utilization of available space.
Main DutiesIdentify growth opportunities and develop strategies within the cargo area.
Oversee and be accountable for overall cargo revenue, cost performance, and continuous improvement of financial and operational performance.
Develop global marketing and sales activities for cargo.
Ensure reliable cargo operations and adherence to policies.
Lead and develop the cargo department's organization and staff.
Discuss strategic direction and resource needs with senior management.
Identify key accounts and maintain relationships with Gulf Air's largest customers, GSAs, and CSAs.
Manage the network by providing market data, financial input, and schedule development.
Achieve revenue targets while considering cost reduction and budget compliance.
Ensure overall capacity utilization and maintain reliability of cargo offloads, claims, and 'flown as booked'.
Contribute to fleet planning, schedule development, and new station or route development with critical cargo business inputs.
Develop and implement comprehensive cargo business policies, procedures, and controls.
Implement an effective budgetary control process for the cargo business.
Monitor cargo business progress through agreed KPIs.
Maintain strong interline relationships with carriers that can direct cargo over our network.
Stay commercially aware of regional performance issues, including competitors' activities, and provide intelligence to management.
Ensure compliance with all legal, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
Set sales targets/KPIs and monitor performance through sales reports.
Oversee the selection of General Sales Agents (GSAs), including the tender process, negotiation, and contracting.
Education & ExperianceBachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales or relevant.
Minimum 8 years of experience required.
