Job Overview

Plumbers in the hotel and resort industry maintain and repair water supply, drainage, sewage, and gas systems. They respond to emergency leaks, unclog drains, and execute Preventive Planned Maintenance (PPM) across guest rooms, public spaces, kitchens, and central utility plants to ensure a seamless guest experience.
KeyDuties & Responsibilities
- Preventive Maintenance (PPM):
Conduct regular inspections of plumbing systems, valves, water heaters, and pool/spa filtration components to prevent unexpected failures. - Water Quality & Pressure:
Monitor and adjust water pressure, chlorine levels, and water temperatures to meet safety codes and guest comfort standards.
- Guest Areas:
Respond promptly to leaks, overflowing toilets, and drainage issues in guest rooms, ensuring repairs are completed discreetly with minimal disruption to the guest. - Back-of-House:
Troubleshoot plumbing issues in heavily used zones such as the main kitchen, employee locker rooms, laundry facilities, and staff dining areas.
- Install, repair, or replace toilets, sinks, bathtubs, showers, and faucets.
- Specialized Systems:
Maintain resort assets like swimming pools, spas, sauna steam generators, and LP gas lines. - Pipework:
Repair and install copper, PVC, and cast‑iron piping systems.
- Compliance:
Ensure all repairs and installations strictly adhere to local public health and plumbing codes. - Inventory Management:
Track plumbing supply inventory, spare parts, and tools; request restocking when supplies run low. - Shift Reporting:
Complete daily shift reports, log work orders, and coordinate with the engineering or maintenance supervisor on broader facility issues.
