Position Summary:
The Miller's Smorgasbord Busser position is responsible for expediting and clearing tables and ensuring a warm and friendly dining experience in a fast-paced buffet-style restaurant on weekdays, weekends and holidays. You will work closely with servers to maintain table service throughout the dining experience. Potential earnings for this rotation position are $20 to $25 per hour based on actual earnings (not guaranteed).
- Busser (Tipped position $2.83/hour plus tips):
Remove dishes and other items from tables after the meal; clean and prepare tables for new guests according to company standards; perform cleaning side work; complete service paperwork; support waiters and kitchen staff as needed. - Buffet Attendant (Non-tipped):
Rotate food using oldest items first; maintain a clean and sanitary buffet area with proper food handling, storage and sanitation; assist team members with buffet bars; communicate with kitchen when more food is needed; greet and assist guests; ensure food items are stored properly per health regulations; clean and sanitize areas and equipment; interact with guests with a warm welcome and gratitude;
ensure equipment is turned off at shift end; attend required meetings; perform other duties as requested. - Host/Hostess (Non-tipped):
Greet and seat guests; manage waiting list and floor plan; track table status; provide wait times; ensure a positive dining experience; perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be age 16 or older
- Physical stamina to lift and carry heavy items; ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays
- Ability to follow safety protocols
- High energy and stamina; ability to stay calm and work under pressure
- Strong verbal communication and excellent customer service
- Ability to read menus, safety documents, and other work-related documents
- Table teamwork orientation and organizational skills
- Ability to read and write; time management and attention to detail
- Knowledge of workplace safety and emergency procedures
