Senior Staff Accountant

Pay range: 35-45/hr depending on experience.

Sr. Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities of the Finance Department, including a variety of highly sensitive and confidential accounting duties.

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities
• Own complex journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications
• Perform and review balance sheet account reconciliations
• Analyze variances vs. budget, forecast, and prior periods
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
• Fixed assets and depreciation
• Revenue recognition and contract accounting
• Intercompany transactions and consolidations

• Assist with preparation of internal financial statements and management reports
• Support external financial reporting requirements
• Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for audits
• Coordinate with auditors and respond to audit requests

• Maintain and improve internal controls (SOX, if applicable)
• Identify process inefficiencies and drive process improvements / automation
• Document accounting procedures and workflows
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data

• Provide accounting guidance to non‑finance stakeholders
• Work alongside Division Finance and Technical Accounting
• Review work of junior accountant
• Provide training and informal supervision

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, MBA or CPA preferred
• 5‑7+ years of relevant accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications:
  Excel and Word
• ERP proficiency – bonus if experience with Sage
• Ability to effectively meet scheduled and ad‑hoc project deadlines
• Demonstrated quick study, can work independently and self‑starter competencies
