Position PurposeThe Campus Receptionist plays a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors, students, faculty, and staff while ensuring efficient communication across campus.
This position is responsible for managing inbound calls, greeting guests, and supporting the Admissions Department with administrative and documentation tasks as directed by the Director of Admissions.
The Campus Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for prospective students and visitors, helping to create a positive first impression of the campus and contributing to the overall success of the institution.
Key Responsibilities- Greet and assist campus visitors, providing information and directing them to the appropriate departments or services.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming calls, responding to inquiries and routing calls appropriately.
- Provide exceptional customer service while acting as a liaison between students, visitors, faculty, and staff.
- Support the Admissions Department with electronic and hard-copy documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Enter and manage inquiries in Campus Nexus using the Quick Lead method or Inquiry Folder.
- Conduct daily audits of inquiries using the Lead Master Listing Summary Report and distribute findings to the Director of Admissions.
- Maintain lead return records and assist with lead distribution and follow‑up on missed appointments.
- Generate daily activity reports detailing interviews and financial aid appointments.
- Provide administrative support to faculty and staff as needed.
- Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent professional experience.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven, and compliance‑oriented educational environment.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and strong work ethic.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Self‑motivated with effective problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including:
- Word
- Excel
- Outlook
- Share Point
- Teams
- Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours as needed.
- Previous receptionist or front desk experience.
- Experience operating a multi‑line telephone system.
- Prior experience in a college admissions or higher education environment.
Tuesday – Thursday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM EST
Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
