The Student Support Specialist provides customer service functions, enrollment and program support for NOVA Workforce. This position will be responsible to serve the students and NOVA Community at large in a timely fashion. Duties and tasks include providing quality customer service, handling customer complaints, performing registration tasks, entering and maintaining accurate data, issuing enrollment confirmations, troubleshooting enrollment problems, ensuring instructors have all instructional materials, organizing and maintaining files and records, providing general office support, and assisting with the marketing of classes.
The ability to adapt and respond to different audiences, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to work cooperatively with students, instructors and staff, ability to work on multiple projects independently, ability to develop and prepare reports, ability to provide accurate information and courteous customer service, attention to detail and ability to take initiative are required.
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, an office setting with office procedures, managing files, schedules and paperwork, customer service and forward-facing experience, and administrative office experience are also required. Experience in a higher education setting, working with enrollment, working with under-served and underrepresented populations, and bilingual abilities are a plus.
