The Council Liaison and Community Engagement Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Manassas, VA. This position coordinates and supports the Chamber’s councils, committees, and working groups, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, coordinating speakers, and maintaining accurate records. The Liaison works closely with volunteer leaders and staff to plan events and programs, track action items, and ensure effective follow-up and communication.
Daily responsibilities include organizing logistics, drafting and distributing communications, updating member and committee information, and supporting advocacy and business development initiatives. The role also involves building relationships with members, assisting with outreach and engagement efforts, and representing the Chamber at meetings and functions as needed.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple councils, committees, and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting agendas, minutes, emails, and other member-facing communications.
- Proficiency with office productivity tools and databases (e.g., Microsoft Office, CRM or membership systems) and comfort learning new software.
- Ability to build positive relationships with volunteers, members, and community partners, demonstrating professionalism, discretion, and a service-oriented mindset.
- Experience in event or meeting planning, including scheduling, logistics, and attendee coordination, is highly beneficial.
- Background in business, public administration, nonprofit, or community engagement settings is preferred; chamber of commerce or association experience is a plus.
- Capability to work on-site in Manassas, VA, including occasional early morning, evening, or special event hours as needed.
