ResponsibilitiesKey member of the Undersea Mission Systems (UMS) Business Development team in Manassas, VA, the Undersea Warfare Combat Systems Business Development Analyst will be responsible for the market analysis and early opportunity identification across the UMS portfolios. Plans and executes new business and program growth activities including opportunity assessment, capture management, competitive assessment and positioning, teaming/subcontracting strategy, and customer relationship development.
Coordinates with other internal functional departments that are identifying/implementing business development projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying resource requirements, capture strategies and marketing plans for new market growth pursuits. Communicates plans with senior management and represents Lockheed Martin in key customer, subcontractor and teaming meetings.
The candidate should be familiar with Submarine Combat subsystems (Imaging, Navigation, Radar, Electronic Warfare), combat system integration, and Subsea Seabed Warfare. The candidate will be responsible for expanding the domestic footprint and extending USM products into emerging mission areas, developing and executing call plans, and working closely with the USM Program Office and technical teams to execute the strategy. The UMS business is based in Manassas, VA.
BasicQualifications
- Understanding of Undersea Warfare market
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Capture, BD, or related experience
- Portfolio management of numerous critical pursuits in a large new business pipeline
- Experience in strategic planning, financial analysis, and teaming
- Experience opportunity identification, developing business cases, and capture execution
- Business acumen, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, reliability, and sound judgment
- The ability to develop strategies, financial and investment plans through Program Management, Finance, and Engineering and other required functional areas
- Partner with Government Affairs, Global Business Development & Strategy, and others as required
- Ability to rapidly respond to changing environments
- Demonstrates strong leadership skills
- Diplomatic, persuasive, and articulate communication style and presentation skills to establish and maintain rapport with internal and external customers/partners.
- Experience with submarine weapon systems and submarine combat systems (Imaging, Navigation, Radar) and Precision Navigation
- Expert in strategy, financial and investment plans and capture activities
- Direct experience building and tracking new business funds plan to support the long‑range plan
- Strong understanding of LM/RMS Win Plan
- Understanding of International Trade Compliance and familiarity with export control policies and laws
- Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.
