Currie & Brown is seeking an experienced Construction Quantity Surveyor for a client site in Virginia. The successful candidate will support project leaders by delivering core services, including estimation, procurement, and cost planning, while ensuring work is completed on budget and to the highest standards. This role will contribute to successful project outcomes, knowledge sharing, and innovation, reinforcing Currie & Brown's reputation as a trusted partner.

• Develop accurate cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts
• Perform take-offs, measurements, and interpret P&IDs
• Apply knowledge of unit rates to cost planning and control
• Monitor and manage project costs across the full lifecycle
• Draft, review, and administer construction contracts
• Manage variations, negotiate cost impacts, and update budgets
• Prepare tender documents, bills of quantities, and procurement packages
• Evaluate and negotiate with contractors and suppliers
• Conduct financial reviews, track costs, and prepare detailed reports
• Value completed work, issue payment certificates, and finalize accounts
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, cleanroom, and laboratory projects
• Tool installation experience considered an advantage

• Proficiency in cost estimation and budgeting software
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations
• Extensive knowledge of MEP systems
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
• Strong analytical skills to assess costs and financial risks
• Excellent numerical ability for accurate cost calculations and reporting
• Effective communication skills for working with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
• Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and manage disputes
• High attention to detail to ensure cost accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks
• Strong organizational skills

Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field with a minimum of 6 years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
