Location: Manassas Park High School
Reports To: Director of Bands

Position Summary: Manassas Park City Schools is seeking a qualified and dedicated individual to serve as the Marching Band Pit Instructor for the 2025–2026 school year. This stipend position is responsible for assisting with the instruction, coordination, and supervision of the front ensemble (pit) section of the Cougar Marching Band.

• Provide musical and technical instruction to students in the front ensemble, including mallet percussion and auxiliary instruments
• Assist with the preparation and execution of rehearsals, performances, and competitions
• Collaborate with the Director of Bands and instructional staff to support student growth and musical excellence
• Support equipment setup, breakdown, and transportation as needed
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages student engagement, discipline, and teamwork

• Band camp (typically held in the summer prior to the school year)
• After-school rehearsals during the marching season
• Attendance at scheduled performances, football games, and competitions

• Demonstrated experience and/or formal training in percussion performance and instruction
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
• Prior experience working with high school students preferred

• $500 stipend, payable at the conclusion of the marching band season
