SALARY:
Hiring Range: $20.40 - $31.83/hour ($24,934 - $38,897/year)
DAYS: 188 | FULL TIME/PART TIME:

This paraprofessional position assists the classroom teacher in performing a variety of tasks, including emergency plans, health‑related plans/services, and instructional procedures. The work is carried out under the direct supervision of the teacher, building administrator, and special education department administrator.
Essential Responsibilities- Assist the teacher with emergency and health‑related plans and services.
- Perform classroom management tasks and maintain instructional materials.
- Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support for students with disabilities.
- Assist with attendance and record keeping.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information.
- Assist with housekeeping, bulletin board maintenance, and class sponsor activity supervision.
- Support students’ personal hygiene, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
- Assist with medical incidents and emergency procedures.
- Supervise students at all times, including during teacher absences.
- Collaborate with substitute teachers, staff, parents, and administrators.
- Act as a role model for courtesy and proper school behavior.
- Check student work, including objective test materials.
- Prepare and keep inventory of instructional materials and media equipment.
- Assist with or supervise students during school‑sponsored activities.
- Provide consistent support for students with disabilities in mainstream classes.
- Accompany students to mainstream settings or remain with non‑mainstream students as directed.
- Perform additional relevant tasks as needed or directed.

- Minimum:
High School diploma or GED. - Preferred:

- Teacher assistant or similar paid or volunteer work, or equivalent combination of education and experience (at least 1 year).

Work EnvironmentThe role is performed indoors in a standard classroom or office environment. Employees work regularly without exposure to adverse conditions, although occasional noise, exposure to computer screens, and crowded working conditions may occur.
