POSITION TITLE:
TEACHER ON SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT - 200 DAY
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/REQUIREMENTS:
An essential function of this position is the ability to work in person and physically report for work on site.
This position assists in supervising and monitoring student needs and assists the administrative team in leadership roles that may encompass school operations. This position assists with the supervision of the instructional program, and participates in staff, student, and parent activities.
DAYS: 200 | FULL TIME/PART TIME:
Full Time
- Assists in establishing a positive environment for achieving educational outcomes
- Assists in the development and implementation of operational guidelines in the areas of building organization, student discipline, community involvement, security of the school and student transportation
- Assists teachers with planning effective strategies to address student attendance and behavioral issues in the classroom
- Interprets and supervises the implementation of PWCS policies and regulations
- Works closely with alternative center and site-based programs, student assistance programs, liaison programs and curricular programs
- Supervises and disciplines an identified cross-section of the student population
- Assists with supervision of halls and restrooms during class, before and after school, and during lunch
- Assists with supervision of cafeteria during lunch
- Assists with supervision of after-school and night activities
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior
- Chairs committee for recommending and implementing in-service programs for professional development
- Assists with assignment and maintenance of lockers
- Assists with planning and organizing of school assemblies
- Assists with supervision of semester and final make-up exams
- Assists in the development of duty rosters and other school-wide schedules
- Assists in the monitoring of student programs and state-wide assessments

- Ability to perform the full range of professional duties required to manage and support the strategic goals of the school and School Division
EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENCY REQUIREMENTS
Minimum:
Bachelor's Degree
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Virginia State Certification
