Reports to:

Principal and Assistant Principal.

• Current licensed staff must meet or exceed all performance standards.
• Instructional candidates must hold a valid Virginia teaching license for the subject area to be taught.
• Staff who recently retired and have not satisfied their bonified break in service, and Retirement Opportunity Participants who have not completed their ROP hours for the upcoming school year, are not eligible to work summer school.
• If a licensed teacher is unavailable, a substitute or temporary employee may be considered in certain circumstances.

• Certified staff working in their licensed capacity during the summer instructional program (06/18/2026-08/10/2026) will receive an hourly rate based on the salary in their 2025-26 contract.
• Teachers contracted to start in the 2026-27 school year, Teaching Professionals on Temporary Assignment (TPOTA), Temporary Teachers, and Long‑Term Subs who completed a long‑term certified assignment in 2025-26, shall receive the approved temporary rate of pay if they currently hold a valid VDOE license.
• Licensed temporary rate: $46.50 per instructional hour; $32 per non‑instructional hour.
• Non‑licensed temporary rate: $28.80 per hour.

• Position contingent upon sufficient student enrollment and program needs.

Work must be performed in person. A person capable of physically reporting to the school is required.

Full time/part time: temporary.
