POSITION TITLE:
TEACHING PROFESSIONAL ON TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT (TPOTA SPED) – 195 DAY
LOCATION:
Woodbridge, VA
FULL TIME/PART TIME: FULL TIME
$46,909 annual salary plus a daily rate of $240 for a 195‑day, 7‑hour workday contract.
Basic Qualifications- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
- At least one year of successful experience working with students.
- Successful experience working with students with special needs.
- Favorable reference and/or evaluation from a recent supervisor.
- Met all requirements to be eligible for employment in PWCS.
- Implements an instructional program, differentiating instruction to meet each student’s needs.
- Plans and delivers instruction in accordance with the Prince William County Curriculum documents.
- Assesses student abilities relative to desired educational goals, objectives, and outcomes.
- Plans appropriate instructional and learning strategies, including principles of learning and classroom organization.
- Manages the behavior of learners in the instructional setting to ensure a conducive learning environment and participates in student behavior management on school grounds and during lunch.
- Cooperates with and participates in planning and evaluation of the school program.
- Requests assistance from resource personnel as needed to maintain an appropriate learning environment for all students.
- Participates in the professional development program of the school and School Division.
- Coordinates instructional activities and collaborates with other professional staff to maximize learning opportunities.
- Follows the ethics of the profession.
- Supports parents/teachers or parent/student organizations and promotes partnerships.
- Enforces policies and regulations established by the Prince William County School Board and staff, in accordance with program guidelines.
- Supervises pupil activities in buildings and on grounds during and after school hours, ensuring conduct and safety.
- Demonstrates prompt and accurate written communications and reports.
- Adheres to county and school disciplinary procedures.
