Position: MATHEMATICS TEACHER -195 DAY

Position Overview

Mathematics Teacher – 195 Day, Full Time, Manassas, VA. The role plans and implements instructional programs, manages student behavior, assesses achievement, and modifies instruction as needed. The teacher may work in single or multi‑grade classrooms and may serve as an itinerant provider, including onsite and off‑site duties. The position is supervised by the principal and/or designated administrator.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Assess student achievement continuously and maintain assessment documentation.
  • Plan and implement instructional strategies, manage learning time, and use technology to enhance learning.
  • Manage classroom behavior and collaborate with school behavior staff.
  • Coordinate instructional activities with school and community professionals.
  • Work as part of a team, department, or itinerant capacity and may conduct off‑school visits.
  • Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and in‑service activities.
  • Foster partnerships with parents and communicate student progress.
  • Assign work to and supervise instructional assistants and volunteers.
  • Serve at two or more schools as itinerant (if applicable).
  • Support school wide student activities and social events.
  • Monitor behavior in non‑instructional areas and intervene as necessary.
  • Collaborate with guidance counselors, librarians, and other staff on school wide instructional activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced education preferred.
  • Virginia State teaching certification with required endorsements; eligibility for the Virginia State Certification Program.
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license if itinerant duties are required.
  • Knowledge of instructional processes, curriculum, and technology.
  • Understanding of pre‑adolescent and adolescent development.
  • Familiarity with Prince William County curriculum and school mission.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives.
  • Skill in multimedia and computer technology to enhance learning.
Work Environment

The teaching environment is indoor, standard classroom setting. The role requires occasional exposure to minor office or classroom conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for disabilities.
