Position: Technician Apprentice Program (TAP) – Power Generation – Manassas, VA

Overview

Technician Apprentice to join our team specializing in Power Generation for our Distribution Business in Manassas, VA. In this role, you will be a full-time, paid employee who will complete a development program with the support of our coaching technicians and managers.

Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety Fundamentals - Champion and model proactive health and safety behaviors, identify, report, and participate in actions to improve health and safety in order to build an interdependent culture and contribute to an injury-free workplace.
  • Diagnostics Application - Translate customer complaints to develop troubleshooting plans; troubleshoot issues following guided workflows, procedures, specialized equipment such as mechanical and electronic service tools, and diagnose computer software to isolate failed components; validate repair by duplicating the complaint and document results of troubleshooting in business systems.
  • Electronic Service Tool Application - Identify required hardware and software tools for a service event; utilize the appropriate electronic tool set to maintain the product or diagnose and troubleshoot; interpret tool results to determine next steps for service resolution.
  • Power Generation Systems Knowledge - Comply with safe work procedures including PPE; interpret and analyze Power Generation system operation and integration; apply tools and service publications to diagnose and repair.
  • Product Repair and Maintenance - Repair and maintain mechanical/electrical products following guidelines; disassemble/assemble engines or power generators; inspect and replace parts to minimize cost of ownership; perform progressive damage checks to restore to pre-failure condition.
  • Technical Escalation - Obtain product technical information, utilize available resources, and elevate issues when needed; document troubleshooting steps for ticket resolution.
  • Values differences - Recognize and value diverse perspectives and cultures within the organization.
Qualifications
  • Monday - Friday 7am - 4pm with after hours and weekend work
  • A current valid license is required for this role
  • Requires a 5-year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
  • Must pass Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). years driving experience
  • Subject to DOT driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
  • Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older

Education/

Experience:

Applicants must meet the minimum community college general education course requirement of 2.8 GPA (high school unweighted), or 22 ACT score, or GED with one year of college including Math and English with a minimum 2.8 GPA.
