MEP Specialist (QA/QC Electrical) – Data Center Projects
Location:
75% Travel - Candidates may be based anywhere in the United States
Travel:
75% Travel Required
- Typical schedule:
3 weeks onsite / 1 week remote - Travel expenses fully reimbursed
- $90/day per diem when traveling 100+ miles from home
- Mileage, rental car, gas, tolls, hotel, and rideshare expenses covered
- Candidates must initially book and pay for travel expenses and will be reimbursed the following week
- Company credit card provided upon conversion to full-time employee
Compensation:
- $110,000 – $130,000 annual salary
- OT Exempt
- 45–50 hours per week
Duration: 12-Month Contract-to-Hire

Overview
We are seeking experienced Electrical MEP Specialists to support mission-critical data center projects across the United States. This role focuses on electrical QA/QC, startup, commissioning, and energization activities for large-scale data center construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working with electrical power systems, commissioning processes, and mission-critical environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical QA/QC inspections and manage deficiency resolution.
- Oversee installation, startup, and commissioning of UPS systems, switch gear, PDUs, and related electrical infrastructure.
- Coordinate switch gear energization with utilities, commissioning teams, contractors, and owners.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, controls, PLCs, EPMS, and SCADA communication issues.
- Develop and execute permits, Method of Procedure (MOP) documents, and electrical safety requirements, including LOTO and PPE protocols.
- Drive commissioning readiness, testing, and project turnover activities.
- Provide project status updates to stakeholders and support junior team members as needed.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with project quality and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of electrical construction, commissioning, or MEP experience.
- 2+ years supporting mission-critical or data center projects.
- Experience with QA/QC, startup, commissioning, and energization of electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of UPS systems, switch gear, PDUs, and electrical power distribution.
- Experience troubleshooting controls systems, PLCs, EPMS, and SCADA environments.
- Experience developing or issuing permits and MOPs.
- Proficiency with Procore.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Eaton, Schneider Electric, Vertiv, ABB, or Mitsubishi UPS systems.
- Hands-on supervision of UPS installation and startup activities.
- Experience with PDU installation and commissioning in data centers.
- Background in industrial automation, control panels, and PLC systems.
