Electrical Engineer (Entry Level)
Location: Manassas, VA
Pay Rate: $42.17/hour
About the Role
We are seeking an Entry Level Electrical Engineer to support the design and development of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic assemblies supporting advanced defense systems. This role offers hands-on experience across the full hardware lifecycle including schematic design, simulation, testing, debug, and system integration.
This is an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers looking to grow in PCB design, power electronics, and hardware development within a defense engineering environment.
ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop printed circuit boards (PCBs) for power systems and electronic assemblies
Create schematics, perform component selection, and generate Bills of Material (BOMs)
Collaborate with PCB layout teams to optimize placement, routing, signal integrity, and thermal performance
Support circuit simulation and analysis using SPICE or similar tools
Assist with PCB bring-up, testing, debugging, and design verification
Generate engineering documentation including schematics, assembly drawings, and specifications
Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from senior engineers
Support integration and test of hardware within larger system assemblies
Apply IPC standards and PCB design best practices
Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineering teams
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance (Required at Time of Hire)
U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Experience
Exposure to or academic/project experience in:
PCB & Electrical Design
PCB schematic capture tools (OrCAD, Altium, KiCad, or similar)
Analog and digital circuit fundamentals
Power supply design (linear regulators, DC-DC converters)
Component selection and datasheet interpretation
Simulation & Testing
Circuit simulation tools (LTSpice, PSpice, or similar)
Lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators)
Hardware & System Concepts
Signal integrity and high-speed design fundamentals
PCB manufacturing and Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
IPC standards (IPC-2221, IPC-2222, etc.)
Thermal management concepts
Interfaces & Embedded Exposure
Communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, USB)
EMI / EMC design basics
Microcontrollers or embedded system exposure
Internship, co-op, or senior design project experience in PCB or hardware development is strongly valued.

9/80 Work Schedule (Every other Friday off)
Active or ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance (Required at Time of Hire)
