Construction Manager

A Data Center Construction Manager at Amazon will lead construction project management for new Amazon Data Centers, driving cost, schedule, and quality while managing vendors and contractors on site. The role supports teams across Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning, ensuring energy‑efficient, cost‑effective data centers that support customers.

• Act as Amazon’s owner‑representative on construction sites, driving project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Interface with selection, bidding, award, execution, and close‑out of general contractors.
• Negotiate contracts, evaluate bids, and conduct constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs.
• Create construction scopes, RFPs, and perform financial analysis of construction projects.
• Manage construction documents (submittals, RFIs, change orders, invoicing) and quality control.
• Track key construction metrics and report to management.
• Lead troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to support the data center.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and Windows operating systems.
• Knowledge of power management and monitoring systems.

• 5+ years of project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure.
• Knowledge of critical data center equipment and engineering documentation.
• Understanding of building codes and regulations (Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, OSHA).
• Experience in construction specification and drawing interpretation for all domains.
• Experience in data‑center engineering operations, electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
