Overview
The Fab Support Engineer Lead supervises shift technicians responsible for maintaining and repairing Fab Support systems—including vacuum pumps, abatement units, chillers, heat exchangers, and liquid delivery equipment—to ensure reliable manufacturing operations. This role leads safety, quality, and equipment performance initiatives, coordinates preventative maintenance, drives continuous improvement, and partners with engineering, facilities, and operations teams to support tool uptime and operational stability across Fab 6.
Responsibilities- Lead shift technicians in safely performing maintenance and recovery activities on Fab Support equipment, ensuring compliance with all EHS requirements, JHAs, and site procedures.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules, equipment downtime, and cross‑functional support with engineering, process areas, and OEM suppliers.
- Monitor equipment performance, analyze system data, and drive corrective actions to improve reliability, uptime, and cost efficiency.
- Communicate tool status, risks, safety issues, and operational changes to stakeholders; expedite Fab‑impacting concerns promptly.
- Support documentation accuracy by maintaining and improving PMs, procedures, JHAs, and technical work instructions.
- Mentor and develop team members (shift technicians) through coaching, performance management, and professional development planning.
- Facilitate problem‑solving activities, lead root‑cause investigations, and support TPM initiatives to strengthen equipment effectiveness.
- Track action items, prioritize tasks across the shift, and ensure timely completion of maintenance work and area commitments.
- 3+ years of experience in leading technical teams within a semiconductor manufacturing environment, with demonstrated ability to manage performance, coach employees (technicians), and coordinate work across shifts.
- Strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting experience with working knowledge of AC/DC circuits, facilities utilities, and Fab Support systems (pump, chiller, abatement, liquid source delivery).
- Proficiency with MS Office and basic data analysis tools, with strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving abilities.
- 5+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing operations or maintenance of Fab Support systems (vacuum pumps, abatement, chillers, LDS).
- Experience with TPM programs and structured problem‑solving methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, KT).
- Background in managing maintenance documentation, EHS compliance, and technical procedure development.
- Related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
