The Global Facilities Project Engineer at Micron is responsible for shaping and executing a comprehensive construction roadmap that supports Micron’s long-term manufacturing and facilities strategy.
This role manages and supports construction projects from early planning through closeout, ensuring alignment with business objectives, stakeholder requirements, budgets, and schedules. The position also plays a key role in improving project planning processes through data analysis, benchmarking, and standardized reporting.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage the new construction project planning process from inception through closeout.
- Define project objectives, scope, roles, and deliverables in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Develop and maintain space, cost, schedule, and long-range planning reports for leadership review.
- Prepare and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to ensure cost efficiency and on-time delivery.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams to support design, construction, and execution activities.
- Collect, analyze, and benchmark project and site data to support planning decisions and continuous process improvement.
- Provide clear and timely project updates, risk identification, and issue resolution to stakeholders.
- Improve and standardize project planning business processes to support global facilities execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in project or program management for construction or facilities projects.
- Demonstrated experience with project planning, scheduling, and cost control.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Experience with large-scale construction projects, preferably in semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or oil and gas industries.
- Proficiency with construction project management tools such as Microsoft Project and AutoCAD.
- Strong financial acumen, including cost estimating, budgeting, and cost control.
- Professional certification such as PMP, LEED, or equivalent project/construction management credentials.
