OverviewAmentum is seeking a Test Engineer – NOST Support to join the Navy On‑Site Team. The role leads the planning, execution, and validation of ARCI SONAR systems for both in-service and new‑construction submarine platforms, bridging the gap between design and deployment.
Responsibilities- Interact with engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications.
- Identify functional problems and suggest resolutions.
- Define internal quality control standards and maintain reliability programs.
- Conduct Performance Verification Testing.
- Document and analyze test cases and provide feedback and recommendations for product or design changes.
- Ensure testing procedures comply with required industry‑specific standards.
- Contribute to the development of improvements to overall testing and quality programs for improved results.
- Coordinate with vendors or suppliers to modify or develop testing for components or other parts.
- Contribute to moderately complex aspects of a project and work independently in a collaborative environment.
- Qualify as Sonar Test Director to oversee and evaluate software longevity testing.
- Qualify to set up and use various test support equipment.
- Perform bug/defect identification.
- Work well in an agile and collaborative work environment.
- Perform validation and verification of program trouble reports.
- Travel as required and work on‑site in an office environment.
- Follow OSHA and Navy safety requirements, including wearing personal protective equipment.
- Support shift work (evening/mid) for event testing.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of relevant engineering/testing experience.
- Or Associates degree and nine (9)+ years of relevant engineering/testing experience.
- Or HSD and thirteen (13) years of relevant engineering/testing experience.
- Active Secret US Government clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- Strong written and oral communication skills; proficiency in MS Teams and collaborative tools.
- Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational software and hardware.
- Ability to set up and use various test support equipment.
- Bug/defect identification skills.
- Experience with agile and collaborative work environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Working knowledge of ARCI SONAR computer systems and SONAR integrated software application programs.
- Deep understanding of SONAR theory and submarine SONAR operations.
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, MATLAB, and Linux.
- Familiarity with Navy safety requirements and OSHA standards.
US: $80,000 – $120,000 (range estimate; actual compensation may vary based on job responsibilities, experience, etc.).
