Civil Construction Estimator

• Generate detailed take-offs based on an accurate reading of plans, geotechnical reports,requests for proposals, and related documents.

• Reviews bid package documentation including plans and specifications to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.

• Develop and distribute RFP's and RFI's as necessary.

• Compile takeoffs and build estimates using HCSS Heavy Bid software for review with the estimating team.

• Correspond with clients, customers, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and other necessary entities in order to submit a complete bid package.

• Create initial project schedules for submission with proposals as requested by the clients/customers.

• Help transition successful estimates/awarded projects to the operations team. This typically requires involvement in all project buyout and setup operations during the initial phase of the project.

• Upkeep of the estimating logs and other process-tracking measures.

• Negotiate with clients, subs, and suppliers as necessary.

• Work within our organization as a valued member of the management team.

Qualifications

•

Experience:

2+ Years of Experience in Site Development or Heavy Civil Construction

•

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or other Applicable Field of Study

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in order to meet project deadlines.

• Driven and capable of meeting project deadlines.

• Strong analytical skill and attention to detail.

• Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Read and scale civil engineering plans effectively.

• Understands the importance of quality and accuracy.
