A well-established engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Construction Materials Testing & Inspection Engineer to join its growing team in Northern Virginia. This opportunity is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer with extensive experience in construction materials testing, special inspections, and quality assurance on complex public and private sector projects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in both technical delivery and operational leadership, working closely with senior management to support project execution, client development, staff mentoring, and business growth initiatives. • Lead and manage construction materials testing and special inspection projects from inception through completion.
• Coordinate field and laboratory testing activities to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
• Oversee and mentor inspectors, engineering technicians, and laboratory personnel.
• Review testing and inspection reports for accuracy and quality.
• Prepare quality assurance reports and non‑conformance documentation as required.
• Manage testing and inspection of construction materials including soils, concrete, masonry, asphalt, fireproofing, structural steel, and site development elements.
• Serve as Engineer of Record for special inspections and third‑party inspection services where required.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, architects, and design teams throughout project delivery.
• Support business development activities, client relationship management, proposal preparation, and project pursuits.

• Professional Engineer (PE) licence in Virginia.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Construction Materials Testing & Inspection (CMTI).
• Strong understanding of special inspections, quality assurance processes, and applicable industry standards.
• Proven leadership experience managing technical teams and mentoring staff.
• Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel locally as required.
