The Accounting Manager leads financial operations within a dynamic insurance organization and is responsible for a broad spectrum of financial operations, including receivables and disbursements to ensure accurate reporting, timely collections and efficient payment processing. This role has a strong background in financial operations, financial reporting support and team leadership, with a forward-thinking mindset that embraces the use of AI and automation to drive innovation and efficiency.

• Oversee the full accounts receivable lifecycle, including premium billing, collections, cash application, and reconciliation.
• Manage disbursement processes, including commission payments, insured refunds, and claims payouts.
• Supervise a team of AR/AP specialists and analysts, providing coaching, performance feedback, and development opportunities.
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and operations teams to provide proactive and responsive customer service that meets all servicing standards.
• Monitor aging reports and implement strategies to reduce average days outstanding and improve cash flow.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, GAAP, and insurance regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and present financial operations metrics, forecasts, and variance analyses to various stakeholders.
• Support the financial reporting team with required information and analysis for monthly reporting, as well as budgeting and forecasting.
• Lead process improvement initiatives, including the adoption of AI tools and automation technologies to streamline workflows, enhance accuracy, and reduce manual effort.
• Coordinate with external auditors and support audit requests related to receivables and disbursements.
• Assist Finance leadership with developing a department strategy to meet Berkley Net’s goals.

• 10 years of finance/accounting experience
• 3 years of experience leading and engaging teams in fast-paced results driven organizations
• Preferred Qualifications:
  
  CPA license or AIAF designation
• Experience with the following technologies preferred:
  Essbase, OBIEE, VENA Solutions, People Soft and PowerBI
• Must demonstrate attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously to drive results
• Familiarity with AI-driven financial tools and automation platforms is preferred.
• Communicates effectively with teammates and others, leading meetings and interacting with increasingly higher levels of management to gather information and effectively present results and recommendations
• Consistently demonstrate positive innovation behaviors that support new ideas to keep the department and company moving forward
• Proactively demonstrate assessment of risks within internal controls, processes and financials

• Bachelor’s degree (Finance or Accounting) is required
