Micro-Cap Solutions is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a fast-growing construction and manufacturing organization seeking a Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations.
The RoleThis is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all accounting, finance, and payroll functions across the organization.
The Controller will play a critical role in establishing financial strategy, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting. This individual will partner closely with executive leadership to drive financial performance, support decision-making, and maintain a strong financial foundation for a rapidly evolving business.

Key Responsibilities- Lead all accounting and financial operations including general ledger, A/R, A/P, payroll, and revenue recognition
- Partner with executive leadership to drive P&L performance and support strategic decision‑making
- Develop financial forecasts, KPIs, and reporting insights to guide business performance
- Oversee month‑end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and all regulatory requirements
- Develop and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital planning
- Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting
- Analyze variances and provide actionable recommendations
- Oversee job costing and percentage‑of‑completion (WIP) accounting
- Support operational teams with financial insights tied to project performance
- Monitor customer aging and manage collections processes
- Hire, lead, and develop accounting, project accounting, and payroll teams
- Build scalable processes and systems to support continued growth
- Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, lenders, and other external stakeholders
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to external parties
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
- CPA and/or CMA strongly preferred; MBA is a plus
- 5–10+ years of accounting and financial management experience within construction, manufacturing, or project‑based environments
- Experience with job costing and percentage‑of‑completion (WIP) accounting
- Understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Experience building and leading teams in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to connect financial data to operational decisions
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Office‑based role with regular interaction across operations and leadership teams

- Base salary range: $130k-$170k depending on experience
