Job DutiesProbation Officers will provide domestic and delinquent intake services, and juvenile probation and parole supervision. The officers will also provide effective interventions and services for competency development and accountability to promote juvenile behavioral change and public safety.
Minimum Qualifications- Knowledge and/or experience of the criminal justice system to include court proceedings
- Knowledge of techniques to interview clients
- Knowledge of client counseling techniques
- Knowledge and ability to assess client needs and to develop case plans
- Knowledge and ability to identify community resources and human service agencies to support families
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, including the creation of written reports
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products
- A valid driver’s license is required or the ability to obtain by the date of hire
- Experience working with juveniles and their families
- Probation Officer experience
- Experience with community programming
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, guidelines and procedures
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
