AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The team supports every AWS data center and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that keep customers with continuous access to the services they rely on.
As a Data Center Technician you will report to a site location and work across a diverse team of software, hardware, network, and operations specialists. You will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels. The role may involve being a primary responder, which includes monitoring infrastructure, coordinating response to incidents, and partnering with other teams to resolve issues that impact service availability.
Primary responder responsibilities may require evening, weekend, holiday, or night work to maintain high levels of reliability.
All candidates should be willing to work independently or with a team. Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to success. In addition to hardware and network repair, candidates will install equipment, create documentation, innovate solutions, and fix problems within the data center space. This team operates 24/7, so travel within and outside the regional work area is required.
A reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license are necessary; company transportation is not provided.
- Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on various components, troubleshoot network issues, and respond to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to senior technicians and management as needed.
- Serve as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
- Perform on‑call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
- Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues.
- Help train and onboard new team members.
- Regularly lift or move up to 40 pounds, and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
- Work in an environment that operates 24/7 with primary responder rotation and after‑hours support as needed.
- Operate in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments.
- Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.

- 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
- 1+ years of computer networking experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
