Job DescriptionCYBERSECURITY ANALYST
Advance your career while impacting our national security in cyber as a Cybersecurity Analyst e, technologists have many paths to grow a meaningful career supporting cyber missions and operations across the federal government.
Your Role- Monitor system performance and availability using system monitoring tools.
- Perform initial triage of system alerts to determine their severity and impact.
- Respond to alerts and incidents in a timely manner, diagnosing and resolving system issues.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as firmware upgrades, patch management, and configuration changes.
- Escalate incidents to higher-tier technicians or engineering teams as necessary.
- Document incident details, actions taken, and lessons learned for future reference and analysis.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree:
Security+CE - Certification Requirements: Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level 1 or Information Assurance Manager Level 1 or obtain and approved Incident Responder certification within 6 months of the date of hire.
- Technical Training, Certifications, or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience: 2 year (4+ preferred) technical experience; 1 year of helpdesk experience.
- Preferred Experience: Department of State employee or contractor experience.
- System Monitoring Tools: Experience with Splunk and Science Logic.
- Endpoint Security: Experience with Tenable Security Center and Symantec Endpoint Protection.
- Networking: Familiarity with Cisco Switches and Firewalls.
- Virtualization: Familiarity with VMWare Products.
- Operating Systems: Working knowledge of operating systems such as Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux.
- Fundamental Knowledge: Strong understanding of network, compute, and storage concepts.
- Preferred
Certifications:
CCNA, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ or equivalent. - Skills: Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Shift: Dayshift work only.
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required and Top Secret clearance.
- Years of
Experience:
2+ years of related experience (may vary based on technical training, certification(s), or degree). - Certification:
As above. - Travel Required:
Less than 10%. - Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required.
