Description
AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. The role requires working with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next‑generation networks and to help develop innovative ways to automate and scale our network.
Key responsibilities include scaling support of several data center locations, day‑to‑day capacity management assistance, and facilitating smooth project execution as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers. The technician will leverage experience supporting large‑scale enterprise networks, implementing and troubleshooting network solutions, and establishing best practices to refine operational procedures.
Physical Requirements- Regularly lift and move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
- Work in a 24/7 environment with primary responder rotation and after‑hours support as needed
- Operate in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments
- Perform bending, stretching, reaching, standing, and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely
- Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
- Collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles
- Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues (patch panels, patch cords, etc.)
- Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking for new equipment
- Participate in migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
- Provide first‑level networking device support, track rack intake and delivery, and coordinate with onsite teams for rack space, power, and cooling
- Build console and room infrastructure to expand customer rack capacity
- Work with ‑scaling peers to assemble higher‑level networking devices
- At least 1 year of computer networking experience
- At least 1 year of Linux operating system experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Capability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work in cramped or elevated spaces while adhering to health & safety guidelines
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle pressure
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- Knowledge of cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
- Experience in a data center environment (racking, stacking, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
- Industry standard certification (CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+) or relevant experience in networking engineering
- Proficiency with network troubleshooting tools (telnet, test-net connection, tracert, tracetcp, iperf, dig, packet capture tools)
- Understanding of networking protocols such as HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP

Base hourly rates vary by location: 30.00 – 54.00 USD for most positions; 27.00 – 48.00 USD for certain roles. Compensation includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs) in addition to standard benefits.
