Commvault Specialist

CMK Resources is hiring a Commvault Resident Services Engineer (RSE) to support enterprise customers by providing dedicated administration, optimization, and technical support for their Commvault backup and recovery environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commvault engineer who enjoys owning day-to-day operations, improving backup performance, troubleshooting complex issues, and serving as a trusted technical advisor within enterprise environments.

What You'll Do

• Administer and support enterprise Commvault environments, including day-to-day operations and ongoing platform maintenance.
• Monitor backup jobs, investigate failures, and improve backup and restore success rates.
• Troubleshoot backup, restore, replication, storage, and performance issues.
• Review customer environments and recommend improvements based on Commvault best practices.
• Assist with upgrades, feature enablement, patching, and platform optimization.
• Support disaster recovery initiatives and data lifecycle management strategies.
• Develop solutions for complex backup challenges across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.
• Own incidents from initial investigation through resolution while providing excellent customer communication.
• Create technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge transfer materials.
• Collaborate with customer infrastructure, storage, virtualization, and application teams.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of enterprise backup administration experience with Commvault.
• Strong understanding of backup and recovery, disaster recovery, data lifecycle management, and performance tuning.
• Experience administering Windows and/or Linux server environments.
• Experience supporting VMware, Hyper-V, or other enterprise virtualization platforms.
• Working knowledge of SAN, NAS, storage arrays, snapshots, and enterprise storage infrastructure.
• Experience supporting cloud-integrated backup environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus).
• Exposure to additional enterprise backup platforms such as Cohesity, Net Backup, Networker, Avamar, Veeam, Rubrik, or Data Protector is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and customer communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a customer-facing environment.
