EDSS Senior Storage Engineer ETS; On-site

Description

NOTE: This opportunity is full-time employment position only (no 1099 or C2C engagements, or third parties or staffing agencies, please). The candidate MUST be a U.S. Citizen, local to the Manassas VA area, and available to be on-site full-time.

• Maintain and support enterprise data storage systems, ensuring Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR).
• Design, deploy, and administer a secure, intelligent storage infrastructure.
• Manage storage deployment, configuration, and administration, ensuring optimal performance.
• Collaborate with client management, project teams, and vendors, providing project updates and support.
• Recommend and implement storage solutions to address business needs.
• Provide effective communication and customer support to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Plan, evaluate, and enhance hardware, software, and enterprise storage systems.
• Conduct proof-of-concept tests, validations, and generate completion reports.
• Configure, maintain, and support data protection, disaster recovery, and data migration strategies.
• Deploy and monitor storage infrastructure tools, integrating third-party solutions with Net App and Pure SAN/NAS systems.
• Analyze/troubleshoot security events, system logs, and performance issues.
• Proactively assess and mitigate security threats and technical risks.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, SOPs, and change management plans.
• Provide knowledge transfer, training sessions, and roadmap presentations.
• Conduct performance and capacity planning, generating reports and insights.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation and weekend maintenance activities.

• Must of a U.S. Citizen, as mandated by our government client.
• Must be able to complete/pass/hold at a minimum a Public Trust Investigation / background check.
• Must be local to the DMV area (no convenience travel).
• Must be available to be on-site full-time (M-F) in the Manassas VA area.
• 10+ years of professional work experience.
• 7+ years of experience in SAN/NAS Storage Administration and Engineering. This includes experience (Must Have) in the following:

Managing enterprise storage infrastructure in a complex data center environment.

Design, implementation, and support of SAN, NAS, and Object Storage environments using NVMe-oF, NVMeTCP, FCoE, FCIP, FC Block, iSCSI, and File storage.

Maintaining, administering, and optimization of Net App enterprise storage systems and Cisco MDS SAN switches.

Managing Microsoft File NAS, including NTFS permissions, ACLs, and Active Directory integration.

Implementing and supporting AWS and Azure hybrid cloud storage, including tiering and replication.

Deploying, configuring, and maintaining Cisco MDS 9000 SAN switches and Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller.

Automate storage administration tasks using Power Shell, Ansible, and Shell scripting.

Developing and enforcing Zero Trust security principles, storage hardening, and data protection policies.

Monitoring storage performance and generating reports and presentations on capacity, security, and performance metrics.

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) through replication, backups, and failover testing.

Technical documentation, SOPs, and training to ensure system consistency and knowledge transfer.

• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities.
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent years of experience

• Knowledge of VMware – ESX Cluster Servers, vSphere, vCenter, Open Shift Red Hat and windows server HBA connectivity to Storage.
