Pay Range: $15.50 to $18.25 per hour

As a Porter at RWB Thrift, you are the air‑traffic controller of the backroom, anticipating the needs of the production support staff ahead of time, ensuring supplies are available and in the correct place. You play a vital role in maintaining a safe work environment by prioritizing cleanliness, organization, and flow of the production floor. You are aware of the walkways and remove hazards for the production floor team.

Trailer Loader / Unloader:
The primary task is to safely and efficiently load and unload items from delivery trucks or trailers. This includes furniture, boxes of clothing, household goods, electronics, and other donated items. The loader organizes items, documents arrivals, and safely moves merchandise to designated areas within the store. Communication with the team, adherence to safety protocols, and following store procedures are essential.

Trash Compactor Operator:
Manages waste efficiently and maintains a clean, organized workspace. Operates and maintains the trash compactor equipment, ensures proper disposal of discarded items, and compacts waste materials to optimize space.

Organizer:
Oversees supply management within the backroom. Receives, organizes, and replenishes supplies such as hangers, sensors, racks, carts, and bins, ensuring timely availability on the production floor.

• Transport items between departments and assist with supply movement as needed
• Maintain inventory of supplies and notify management when supplies need replenishment
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe and clean environment for customers and staff
• Provide excellent customer service by anticipating the needs of the production staff so they can accelerate their workflow

• Ability to safely and effectively perform essential job functions in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other standard requirements.
• Physical strength: occasionally lift and carry up to 70 lbs, frequently exert up to 25 lbs of force, and apply negligible force when handling objects.
• Endurance: able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Manual dexterity: proficient in repetitive motions such as extending hands and arms in any direction and working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm.
• Fine motor skills: skilled in tasks involving seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hands.
• Balance and agility: capable of maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
• Visual acuity: possesses clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more.

• Atmosphere: dynamic, consistently busy. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced and busy environment is essential.
• Noise level: noisy due to bustling activity on the sales floor and production area; ability to work effectively in a noisy environment is required.
• Lighting: bright lighting throughout the front and back of the store; ability to work effectively in a bright environment is required.
• Interactions with others: regular interactions with customers, donors, and coworkers, fostering a collaborative and customer‑focused environment; effective communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Flexibility: high degree of flexibility; employees may switch tasks or departments based on operational needs and may work in all areas as assigned.

• Employees are not required to communicate exclusively in English, but the role may involve interactions with English‑speaking customers, donors, colleagues, and supervisors. A fundamental understanding of written and spoken English for comprehending instructions and the ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English may be necessary.
