Overview
Planning, organizing, and scheduling crews to complete assigned work orders, including assigning tasks, ensuring high-quality installation, and performing quality inspections. Monitors task completion, compliance, and safety issues.
Responsibilities
- Ensure crew meets daily productivity benchmarks:
- Material Phasing – Organize materials by specific areas/floors and keep track of inventories.
- Tools & Equipment – Identify all tools and equipment required; assign gang boxes; inspect tools; keep track of tools via sign-in/out sheets.
- Information Packages – Ensure each crew activity has necessary documents (contract drawings, shop drawings, panel schedules, cut sheets, etc.).
- Control breaks to minimize loss time (personal breaks, smoking, conversations).
- Submit daily hour/unit reports for each crew member using the standard time sheet format.
- Perform quality control inspections following the established QC plan and checklists.
- Install work professionally and to high-quality standards.
- Maintain accurate as-built drawings, updating and logging them weekly onto master record contract drawings.
- Inventory all tools and equipment daily; ensure accountability and security; submit inventory/inspection sheets every Monday.
- Report lost, stolen, or damaged tools.
- Review and sign off on AHA’s related to scope of work; store at gang boxes.
- Support equipment inspection – submit weekly inspection sheets for all assigned equipment.
- Follow procedures for reporting and investigating accidents/incidents; submit reports within 24 hours.
- Ensure work area cleanup daily; leave areas broom-swept.
Quality of work must adhere to:
- Codes, contractual obligations, best practices, and corporate quality policies.
- Project Quality Plan; document and communicate deviations for approval.
- Participate in 3-Phase Quality Control (Preparatory, Initial, Follow-up).
- Document and return CQC checklists; facilitate timely inspections.
- Generate Discrepancy Notices to address issues during construction.
- Review weekly quality scorecards and address systemic issues.
- Resolve nonconformity tags promptly.
- Participate in QA/QC design reviews for constructability issues.
- Contribute to daily work briefings on quality.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of electrical industry experience with a High School Degree or GED.
- 4+ years of experience with an associate degree.
Abilities
- Lift at least 100 pounds at once; 60 pounds for extended periods.
- Relocate a 12-foot stepladder unaided.
- Work at heights up to 60 feet; climb and balance on scaffolds, lifts, ladders.
- Perform physical activities: walking, climbing, lifting, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching.
- Good vision (corrected if necessary), color vision, hearing, and English communication skills.
- Use ladders and tools safely within weight limits.
- Recognize problems; apply rules to solve specific issues; analyze relationships among information.
