Overview
An Electrical Foreman is responsible for planning, organizing, and scheduling crews to complete assigned work orders. This includes assigning tasks, ensuring high-quality installation, performing quality inspections, monitoring task completion and compliance, and preventing safety issues.
Responsibilities
- Plan productivity for the assigned scope of work.
- Organize material phasing by specific areas/floors and keep track of inventory.
- Identify tools and equipment needed for each crew, assign gang boxes, and keep track of tool inspections and check-in/out sheets.
- Prepare information packages for each crew activity, including drawings, schedules, and cut sheets.
- Control breaks and manage loss time related to personal breaks, smoking, and conversations.
- Submit daily hour/unit reports for each crew member using the standard timesheet.
- Conduct quality control inspections following the established QC plan and checklists.
- Install work professionally, adhering to high-quality standards.
- Maintain and update as-built drawings weekly and log them onto master records.
- Perform end-of-day inventory and security checks on tools and equipment, submitting inspection sheets every Monday.
- Report lost, stolen, or damaged tools promptly.
- Review and store AHA's related to scope of work, signed by crew members.
- Submit weekly equipment inspection sheets for all assigned equipment.
- Follow procedures for reporting and investigating accidents/incidents, submitting reports within 24 hours.
- Ensure work area cleanup at the end of each day, leaving it broom-swept.
Quality of work must meet:
- Code compliance, contractual obligations, and best practices as per the Corporate Quality Policy.
- All aspects of the Project Quality Plan, with deviations documented and approved prior to proceeding.
- Participation in 3-Phase Quality Control for each Definable Feature of Work, including documentation and timely inspections.
- Proper documentation and return of CQC checklists, ensuring adherence to QAQC schedules.
- Initiate discrepancy notices to resolve issues during construction.
- Review weekly quality scorecards and address systemic issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Address ongoing quality issues in daily reports with the crew.
- Resolve nonconformity tags promptly.
- Participate in QAQC design reviews to identify constructability issues.
- Contribute to the daily ORM work briefing on quality matters.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of experience in the electrical industry with a High School diploma or GED.
- At least 4 years of experience with an Associate degree.
Abilities
- Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, following proper safety protocols.
- Ability to relocate a 12-foot stepladder unaided.
- Work at heights up to 60 feet, climbing scaffolds, lifts, ladders, and maintaining balance.
- Perform physical activities such as walking, climbing, lifting, and reaching overhead routinely.
- Good vision (corrected if necessary), color vision, hearing, and English communication skills.
- Operate standard ladders with tools within weight limits.
- Recognize problems or potential issues, applying general rules to specific problems.
- Combine information to form conclusions and identify relationships.
- See details within a few feet, and understand spoken information clearly.
