OVERVIEWPlans, directs, schedules and coordinates the field service activities and oversees the front desk activities at district office locations, to ensure the highest level of customer service in accordance with regulatory standards and NOVEC policies and procedures.
We are hiring one supervisor for our Manassas, VA office and one supervisor for our Aldie, VA service center.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOther related duties may be assigned. An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and effectively. Reasonable accommodation may be available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
- Supervises and coordinates the work activities of Field Services to ensure the department attains its goals and objectives.
- Establishes and maintains systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data, and enhance the Company’s value.
- Optimizes the production capacity of Field Services staff to improve work efficiency and staff skill base within the department.
- Provides leadership within the department to ensure required human resource administration-staffing, training, coaching, development, work assignments, performance management, goals and objectives, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Plans, directs, schedules, and coordinates field service activities to ensure accurate service order processing, monthly meter readings, collection of delinquent accounts, and location of underground distribution facilities.
- Researches and responds to customer inquiries, complaints, and questions to assist in resolving issues related to customer accounts.
- Assists with reviewing existing and developing new policies and procedures to improve the effectiveness of department and NOVEC programs necessary to meet strategic objectives and customer expectations.
- Establishes standards for work performance and cost reduction activities under his/her direct supervision and evaluates results.
- Performs position responsibilities in accordance with NOVEC policies and procedures and VOSHA safety regulations.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
- Associate Degree in Business is preferred.
- Three to five years of related experience is required.
- Experience in supervising field production activities with knowledge and experience in meter reading, field collections, and utility cable locating is strongly preferred.
- Proven results in supervision and leadership including human resources administration, work planning, budgeting, and project management is preferred.
- Knowledge of locations and structure of meter reading routes.
- Knowledge of safety rules and union work contract with NOVEC.
- Knowledge of "Miss Utility" laws of Virginia. Ability to create workable and functional policies and procedures to operate within the guidelines set by the Virginia State Corporation Commission.
- Ability to prioritize and assign work fairly and equitably to promote teamwork throughout the department.
- Skills in using specialized equipment such as Meter Reading G-5, Mobile Collector, Locator, and Volt meter.
- Ability to train employees in the use of specialized equipment.
- Ability to handle, negotiate and resolve issues involving customers with delinquent accounts.
- Ability to meet multiple and conflicting deadlines.
- Ability to create work schedules.
