Supervisor, Federal Critical Operations
The Supervisor, Federal Critical Operations, manages the tactical execution, installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, FLS, plumbing/piping equipment, machinery, and controls located inside and outside of the building. This position coordinates all aspects of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing maintenance, contracts for critical equipment servicing, capital equipment replacement and new construction, and leads the Critical Operations Team. The role requires 7x24x365 data‑center coverage and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
Responsibilities- Establish, implement, and maintain facility policies, procedures, and organizational structure within corporate guidelines and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Develop and manage emergency response planning, response management, and incident reporting for all electrical, mechanical, associated controls, and plumbing systems.
- Lead, organize, and maintain preventive maintenance for all equipment, including refrigeration, heat exchangers, HVAC, electrical, emergency backup systems, and hot water systems.
- Oversee work orders for preventive and corrective maintenance on critical systems and building structure.
- Order and budget necessary parts and supervise work to completion and compliance.
- Facilitate data‑center space and cable plant design, implementation, and maintenance.
- Ensure all incidents and work orders are completed, updated, and resolved promptly.
- Lead response to emergencies (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and customer concerns.
- Prepare and implement operating budgets, and approve major estimates after consulting with subject‑matter experts.
- Operate DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) Console as required.
- Maintain safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Supervise team cleanliness and safety compliance.
- Provide updates and reporting to the Critical Operations Manager and Site Director.
- Act as interim Critical Operations Manager as needed.
- Supervise, train, develop, mentor, and coach Critical Operations Technicians; set performance goals and monitor progress.
- Ensure timely completion and resolution of all customer requests.
- Assist customers on the Data Center floor with requests, installs, and related projects.
- Four or more years of relevant workplace or industry experience.
- Previous direct or indirect people‑leadership experience.
- U.S. citizenship required by law due to federal customer contracts.
- Eligible for a Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) clearance up to and including a CI polygraph.
- Six or more years of relevant workplace or industry experience.
- Previous people‑leadership experience in a data center environment.
- Active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmentalized Information clearance or higher with eligibility up to and including a CI polygraph.
- Excellent people skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional customer service aptitude.
- Strong analytical capability to determine causes of system problems and implement corrective actions.
- Ability to manage complex situations during off‑management hours as a single point of contact.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.

- Capacity to acquire and apply job‑related knowledge within set guidelines and expectations.
Position may involve frequent typing, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and lifting. Lifting requirements may range from less than 10 lbs to 50 lbs routinely, with heavier weights performed with assistance or lifting aids.
