Vanderpool, Frostick & Nishanian, P.C. (VF&N) is looking for an experienced Director of Operations to lead the business side of our established Northern Virginia law firm.

This isn't simply a role focused on maintaining what's already in place.

You’ll work directly with our Firm President, Board of Directors, attorneys, and staff to strengthen operations, improve systems, develop people, introduce better technology and processes, and help position VF&N for continued growth.

What You’ll Lead

As Director of Operations, you’ll have responsibility across the business functions that keep the firm moving forward, including:

• Firmwide operations and strategic initiatives
• Recruiting, onboarding, employee development, and HR administration
• Administrative and support‑team leadership
• Budgeting, financial administration, billing, and performance metrics
• Technology implementation and vendor relationships
• Automation, workflow improvement, and AI solutions
• Facilities, contracts, compliance, and operational continuity

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone with 5+ years of progressive leadership experience and prior experience working within a law firm environment. Law firm experience is required for this position.

Your background may include law firm administration, legal operations, business operations, finance, human resources, or a combination of these areas.

We’re looking for someone who has successfully led people, improved systems, managed competing priorities, and helped a law firm operate more effectively.

You’ll need strong business judgment, excellent communication skills, financial and operational acumen, discretion, and the ability to move comfortably between big‑picture planning and hands‑on problem solving.
