You will keep the production floor running smoothly by performing essential general shop support tasks in a fast‑paced weapon systems production environment. This hands‑on role focuses on material flow, organization, and cleanliness to ensure technicians and engineers have what they need, when they need it. You will deliver parts and kits to work centers, restock consumables and tools, maintain shop organization, perform light cleanup, and handle trash/recycling removal — all while following company protocols.
Responsibilities- Maintain shop cleanliness and organization throughout the production team’s manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Perform daily cleanup tasks including sweeping floors, wiping down surfaces, emptying trash/recycling bins, and removing scrap/debris from assembly areas.
- Conduct routine inspections and safety checks as required.
- Perform light material handling (up to 50 lbs), operate pallet jacks/carts, and ensure clear aisles and emergency exits.
- Support other production line elements (warehousing, parts management, etc…) on an as‑needed basis.
- 1–5 years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or shop environment performing material delivery, stocking, cleanup, or general labor support (aerospace/defense experience a plus).
- Ability to read basic shop travelers, part numbers, and bin locations; comfortable with simple ERP/MRP transactions (training provided).
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive “see it – fix it” mindset.
- Physical capability to stand/walk for full shifts, lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, bend, reach, and push/pull carts.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance (or the ability to obtain a clearance).
- Reliable, team‑oriented, and able to work flexible hours/support overtime during production pushes.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Forklift or pallet jack certification.
- Experience in AS9100/ITAR‑controlled environments.
- Previous kitting or stockroom support on aerospace or defense programs.
