In this pivotal role, you'll be the guardian of our data center operations, driving reliability and performance while optimizing operational efficiency across complex technical environments.

• Oversee all aspects of the data center’s critical physical infrastructure to maintain high availability and performance and ensure all site work meets high quality standards without impacting customers and service level agreements.
• Manage on‑site teams of 24x7 shift technicians, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring all work follows established practices, procedures and safety protocols.
• Drive a safety and security culture and compliance within the team.
• Hire, coach, and promote team members; manage career development and performance.
• Maintain the operations budget and expenditures.
• Engage in improvement projects and lead them from conception to completion.
• Act as an escalation point for all facilities‑related issues; oversee routine and emergency services on critical systems such as switch gear, generators, UPS, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.
• Apply root‑cause analysis and troubleshooting/problem‑solving skills.
• Respond to out‑of‑hours emergency calls.
• Support more than one location/site and assist in the build‑out of new facilities and projects to increase current facility efficiency.
• Use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and other basic administrative tools.

• Participate in group lifts for 40+ pounds.
• Maintain balance and perform construction tasks while on a ladder.
• Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb stairs, twist, bend, work above shoulders, grasp, carry, push and pull objects into position.
• Work in an environment requiring provided ear protection.

As a Data Center Facility Manager you will serve as a technical resource and leader within Amazon data centers. Your role ensures overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels. You will oversee operations and management of technicians responsible for routine and emergency services on critical systems, maintaining high reliability and performance while keeping operating costs minimal for facilities that support mission‑critical servers with better than 99.999% uptime.

• 5+ years of engineering work managing large‑scale services experience.
• Experience maintaining SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting.
• High school or equivalent.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in a data center or other mission‑critical environment with knowledge of UPS, generators, HVAC, evaporators and other critical infrastructure OR 7+ years of technical (military/trade school) training and/or experience.

• 5+ years of work in data centers with an emphasis on building and equipment operation experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations including feeders, transformers, generators, switch gear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air‑handling units and CRAC units.
• 5+ years of work in a management position with 5 or more direct reports.
• Experience in written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non‑technical leaders.

Base salary range: $ – $ USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
