Shift Technician
As a Shift Technician, you monitor, sustain, and improve the equipment and/or processes in the assigned area, working in partnership with production team members and area engineers. You will monitor tool performance, schedule and perform preventative maintenance, and use mechanical, electronic, and PC/software skills to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
Responsibilities- Monitor equipment performance and report issues to senior technicians or engineers.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks on assigned tool sets.
- Use basic mechanical, electronic, and computer skills to assist with troubleshooting and repairs.
- Follow established procedures and safety protocols when working with equipment and chemicals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and tool performance.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by learning and applying Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles.
- Communicate clearly with team members across shifts to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in training and development programs to build technical and professional skills.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support daily operations.
- Demonstrate a commitment to Micron’s standards for Environment, Health, Safety, Security, and Business Continuity.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work 12‑hour shifts (3 on/4 off and 4 on/3 off), including standing for long periods and lifting equipment.
- Basic mechanical or electrical proficiency and interest in learning technical skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Willingness to follow safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
- Associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
- Hands‑on experience with tools, machinery, or basic equipment maintenance (through school, work, or military).
- Familiarity with documentation practices or basic troubleshooting methods.
- Interest in building a long‑term career in semiconductor manufacturing or equipment support.
