Maintenance Planner
This position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive preventive maintenance plan for all equipment and machinery on the Sonobuoy Manufacturing Floor. The Maintenance Planner will play a crucial role in maximizing equipment uptime, minimizing downtime, and ensuring the efficient operation of the production process. This will involve close collaboration with production personnel, maintenance technicians, and engineering teams. Additionally, this role will support the manufacturing floor by creating work instructions, troubleshooting production issues, and evaluating discrepancies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preventive Maintenance Planning:
- Develop and implement a detailed preventive maintenance plan for all manufacturing floor equipment, including but not limited to:
Sonobuoy assembly machines, testing equipment, calibration stations, and material handling equipment. - Establish a schedule for preventive maintenance tasks based on manufacturer recommendations, industry best practices, and historical data.
- Create and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, parts used, and labor hours.
- Identify and procure necessary spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the preventive maintenance plan and make adjustments as needed.
- Manufacturing Floor Support:
- Provide timely and effective troubleshooting and repair support for equipment malfunctions.
- Assist production personnel with equipment operation and maintenance.
- Perform minor repairs and adjustments as needed.
- Escalate complex issues to the appropriate maintenance personnel.
- Create and maintain clear and concise work instructions for manufacturing processes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Provide support to production personnel when issues arise, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
- Evaluate and disposition discrepancies in materials, components, or finished products, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance maintenance efficiency.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and new technologies in preventive maintenance.
- Education:
Associate's degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field. - Experience:
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on preventive maintenance. Experience in the electronics or defense industry is a plus. - Skills:
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Proficient in the use of maintenance tools and equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in computer applications, including maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
