For more than a century, Northern Virginia Family Services (NVFS) has been a trusted partner to Northern Virginia families, helping more than 40,000 across the region overcome challenges and build brighter futures. From housing and food access to early childhood education, mental health, and workforce development, NVFS ensures families and individuals in Northern Virginia have the resources they need to thrive.
Our Hunger Resource Center has seen a 26% increase in families who need food assistance. NVFS’s Hunger Resource Center is committed to ensuring families do not go hungry, and you can help. Volunteers are needed to sort, pack, and distribute food to families in need. Volunteers will also be asked to clean and maintain the warehouse.
We have a huge need for Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. This opportunity does not offer any weekend availability at this time.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age to volunteer independently. Volunteers aged 14-15 must volunteer with a parent or guardian.
