Job Description
PRN (as needed) position supporting our Cardiology clinics in Manassas, Haymarket and Warrenton. Travel between all locations will be required. Shifts will be scheduled for 8 hours, Monday‑Friday. No weekend or holiday shifts.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will provide direct patient care, support education and care plan reinforcement, and offer general ambulatory support under the direction of the patient’s physician or designee.
The position supports patients of all ages, demonstrating appropriate developmental considerations.
Qualifications- High School Diploma required.
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing Program.
- Completed a nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
- Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in Virginia prior to onboarding.
- American Heart Association BLS certification required.
- Ability to complete general and department‑specific competency testing.
- Patient Care
- Practice safely within defined standards of practice.
- Record and relay patient information, symptoms, and concerns to physician or registered nurse.
- Assist patients with therapeutic regimens.
- Reinforce established care plans and age‑appropriate interventions.
- Administer tasks, treatments, and medications per validated competencies.
- Communication
- Communicate effectively and professionally with team members, patients, and providers.
- Convey information accurately and listen to patients and colleagues.
- Utilize appropriate communication tools within the interdisciplinary team.
- Document patient information in EHR.
- Teamwork
- Share responsibilities and support teammates.
- Prioritize daily work to support patient needs and operational efficiency.
- Demonstrate teamwork and recognize time‑sensitive issues.
- Nursing Practice
- Operate within Virginia nursing regulations.
- Engage in professional development to stay current with ambulatory care best practices.
- Contribute to development of practice guiding resources.
Medium to heavy physical demands: constant standing, frequent walking, frequent bending/stooping. Requires proficiency in communicating, auditory and visual skills, attention to detail, legible writing, ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs. For weights over 35 lbs., use safe handling equipment. Other Requirements- May require use of safety equipment such as HEPA mask for infection prevention.
- On‑call responsibilities as directed.
- Ability to travel between campus buildings, remote facilities, and out of town as needed.
