Salary Range: $30.00 To $30.00 Annually

Position: Part-Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Residential Services
Employment Type: Part-Time | 16 Hours Every Other Weekend | Non-Exempt
Starting Pay:$30.00/hour
Location: Two Residential Group Homes - Manassas, VA 20112
Schedule: Part-time 16 hours every other weekend Saturday-Sunday: 6:00 a.m.

-2:00 p.m. Both shifts are the same weekend at two different group homes in Manassas, VA.

The Arc of Greater Prince William / INSIGHT, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at two of our residential group homes in Manassas, Virginia.

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the LPN is a member of the interdisciplinary nursing team responsible for providing person-centered nursing services. The LPN provides direct nursing care, implements physician- and RN-directed plans of care, monitors individuals' health status, and provides guidance and education to direct support staff.

  • Implement physician orders, nursing care plans, and established nursing protocols.
  • Provide focused nursing assessments and ongoing monitoring, including vital signs, blood glucose, skin integrity, and intake/output as appropriate.
  • Deliver direct nursing interventions within the LPN scope of practice and demonstrated competencies.
  • Promptly communicate changes in an individual's condition to the RN and complete appropriate documentation.
  • Audit Medication Administration Records (MARs) and treatment records for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure prescribed medications and treatments are available and coordinate medication refills with pharmacies.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers regarding medication management practices.
  • Provide guidance to direct support staff regarding health concerns and medical protocols.
  • Reinforce nursing education provided by the RN to individuals, families, and direct support professionals.
  • Assist with coordinating medical appointments and follow up on medical recommendations.
  • Participate in nursing team meetings and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Monitor the health and safety of individuals during assigned shifts and promote infection-control and universal-precaution practices.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational policies, licensing standards, Medicaid Waiver requirements, and best practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
  • Safely operate organizational vehicles, including large passenger vans, when required.
Qualifications
  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing with the Virginia Board of Nursing.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain and maintain certification.
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) preferred.
  • Group home, residential, or community-based nursing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medication administration and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency with electronic documentation.
  • Ability to provide compassionate, person-centered care and assist individuals with personal hygiene and medical routines as needed.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to be insured under organizational requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • Successful completion of required background checks, TB screening, and all required organizational and state-mandated training.
Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, perform CPR/First Aid/AED, stand and walk for extended periods, bend, stoop, push, pull and reach, climb stairs, safely navigate residential and community environments, and operate an organizational vehicle.
