Role OverviewThe Licensed Optician delivers the brand value proposition and helps establish Lens Crafters as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community. The role focuses on delivering legendary customer service and perfectly crafted high‑quality eyewear that exceeds customer expectations.
MajorDuties & Responsibilities
- Welcome all customers and set expectations.
- Custom‑fit glasses and precisely place prescription lenses.
- Act as a leader in optical acumen.
- Take and record measurements, accurately adjust and fit eyewear with attention to detail, ensuring finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs.
- Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
- Use technology accurately under time pressure, demonstrate exceptional product knowledge, and apply appropriate tools.
- Proactively explore root causes of issues, think forward, and ensure customer satisfaction and exceeding expectations.
- Multi‑task, prioritize, and manage time amid competing priorities.
- Strive to achieve exceptional results on brand KPIs and competencies.
- Maintain store appearance; help keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
- Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
- Be resourceful, self‑motivated, and committed to continual learning, improvement, and results.
- Adhere to company policies and procedure, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- State licensure.
- Optical dispensing experience.
- Strong customer‑service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder.
- Knowledge of current store merchandise.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Awareness of current fashion trends.
- Selling skills – ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet.
- Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators.
- Embrace new technology and change.
- Previous customer‑service and retail experience.
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, a competitive bonus and/or commission plan may be offered to complement a first‑class total rewards package.
